I know Ben and his wife personally and they're some of the kindest people I know. They care about doing things right, and you can see it in how they've built this. Full transparency, I'm not sure which I'm a bigger fan of, the starter or the stuffy. It's so cute! If you've wanted to try sourdough at home without tracking down someone's starter, this is an easy and delicious way to get one shipped to your door.

If you love sourdough, or have always wanted to try making it yourself but felt intimidated by maintaining a starter, I definitely recommend giving Bubba a try! Their sourdough starter is dehydrated and shelf-stable, so it can be shipped right to your door and brought back to life at home. I especially love that they make the process approachable for beginners with a clear, day-by-day guide instead of making sourdough feel complicated or overwhelming. The starter comes from their original living culture, carefully maintained and shared with home bakers, and everything is small-batch and made in Las Vegas. They also ship nationwide, which makes it such a fun gift for anyone who loves baking or wants to start making fresh sourdough at home. And I have to mention Bubba’s adorable bread plushies! I have one of their “bread” plushies myself and absolutely love it. It is ridiculously cute and the perfect addition for any sourdough or bread lover. Hands down the best Sourdough I’ve ever had. The ability to rehydrate the sourdough starter is so convenient for our family. Getting fresh baked bread is difficult and time consuming, but Bubba makes it so easy to have fresh bread at home without having to go through the rigor of creating my own wet starter. The plush is super cute too, my daughter is going to love it!

Is this one Baby or a bundle?
Choose one Baby or a pair of two plushies. The best current automatic savings apply at checkout. Neither option includes a sourdough starter.
How big is a Bubba's Baby?
About 9 inches, with a golden crust, flour freckles, a scored top, and a smiling face. It's a plush toy, not edible bread.
Does a Baby need feeding like the starter?
No. A Bubba's Baby is a plush with no live culture. The Classic Starter is the one you feed.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. At checkout, choose the gift option and enter the recipient's address. We'll put a price-free gift receipt in the parcel.
Where do you ship, and how much is shipping?
We deliver to all 50 US states and Washington, DC. International shipping and local pickup aren't available right now. US economy shipping is free on orders of $30 (down from $40) or more after discounts and before tax; otherwise the rate appears at checkout, along with faster options. Starter usually ships Monday through Wednesday so it doesn't sit in a warehouse over the weekend.
Can I return or exchange a Baby?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase if it's unused, clean, and in new condition with any original tags or packaging. Email contact@bubbagoodcrumb.com for instructions before sending anything back. Return postage is yours unless it arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item.
